Nina Rosa is the musical project of Slovak violinist, singer, composer, and lyricist Nina Marinová. The project was born during her years in Prague, where, alongside her studies at a jazz academy, she met the musicians who would later become her bandmates.

From the very beginning, Nina Rosa captivated audiences with its inventive and playful approach, blending elements of chanson, jazz, and reggae with lyrics sung in a variety of world languages—and sometimes even in languages of their own creation. Their debut album Discover (2019) was nominated for the final round of Slovakia’s Radio_Head Awards in the Audience Choice category for Debut of the Year.

The band’s emphasis on stylistic diversity and multilingualism became even more pronounced on their second studio album, Joy, released last year. The album features songs in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Slovak, and Japanese, all connected through an immersive ambient soundscape. Joy was shortlisted for the Radio_Head Awards in the jury-selected World Music category and, in the autumn of last year, spent two consecutive months in the Top 20 of the international World Music Charts Europe.

The spirit of exploration, creativity, and pure joy in making music is just as evident in Nina Rosa’s live performances, which invite audiences on a vibrant musical journey across genres, languages, and cultures.
