MOJŠE BAND ELEKTRO

Slovakia
19. 9. 2026 (Saturday)

Mojše Band is a trio that has released seven albums to date, exploring both traditional and contemporary Jewish music from various historical regions of Slovakia, including Šariš and Spiš. Their discography also includes experimental recordings based on the poetry of Shlomo ben Rivke, inspired by the mystical traditions of the Hebrew Bible.

Thanks to their open-minded approach to both traditional repertoire and original compositions, Mojše Band has established a distinctive position on the European music scene, earning recognition not only within the sphere of Jewish music but also across the broader world music community.

Their latest project, bearing the subtitle “Electro,” delves deeper into the creative tension between the acoustic instruments of the klezmer tradition and contemporary electronic modulation and processing. Electronic and hip-hop influences have already appeared on previous releases, including Mitzvos/Commandments (2021) and last year’s Hirsz Lejb Bakon: Cantor of Chrzanów. However, this new project takes the concept further, fully embracing a diverse range of musical material through contemporary production techniques and sonic experimentation.

The result is a dynamic and engaging performance that bridges tradition and innovation, bringing centuries-old musical heritage into dialogue with the sounds of the present.
