Páni času

Páni času (Masters of time) boldly combine Slovak folklore — including the beloved region of Upper Nitra — with medieval and Celtic music. Their foundation lies in the sound of acoustic instruments, which, thanks to tools like bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy, and bodhrán, carries far even without electric amplification.
The original trio was formed in 2013 and consisted of bagpiper Lukáš Lacko, guitarist Ján Kostolányi, and singer-percussionist Zuzana Hanusová. In this lineup, they recorded their debut album Zelené sihote (Green Meadows), which they self-released in 2016 and which reached the finals of the Radio_Head Awards in the then-category World Music & Folk.
In recent years, the trio expanded with new members. Notable additions include Jakub Bebej, a former member of the group Strigôň (bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy, whistles, viola), as well as Miloslava Chudá, a cimbalom player, vocalist, and zither player, and Viktor Chudo, a percussionist (riq, daf, cajón, darbuka).
In this new lineup, they not only perform concerts but are also preparing new recordings — for example, a single titled Do kova jednoho (“In one round”). We believe that this new version of Páni času (Masters of Time) will also captivate the audience of our festival.
