18. 9. 2026 (Friday)
Maria Mazzotta is a singer from Apulia in southern Italy, equally at home in the traditional vocal style associated with pizzica as she is with Balkan melodies. Between 2000 and 2015, she was a member of the acclaimed group Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, which also performed at WMFB in the past.
She later embarked on a solo career, achieving her first major success with the 2020 album Amoreamaro, a collection of songs exploring the many facets of love through works by renowned Italian songwriters alongside traditional folk songs. The album received numerous awards in Italy and abroad and was featured in the Top 10 of both the World Music Charts Europe and the Transglobal World Music Chart.
With the repertoire from Amoreamaro, Maria Mazzotta toured extensively, travelling thousands of kilometres and performing more than 250 concerts across dozens of countries. For her debut concert in Bratislava, she will be joined by the acclaimed Sicilian accordionist Antonino De Luca, who has collaborated with numerous Italian and international artists.
A Maria Mazzotta concert is an immersive and deeply moving experience, captivating audiences with its powerful energy, emotional intensity, and magnetic stage presence.
