Although this project was founded in 2010, Vladimir Lenhart has had a much longer musical career in various Belgrade underground bands. During his concerts (or if you prefer, DJ sets) under the name Lenhart Tapes, he uses his rich collection of magnetic cassette tapes, which he has collected from flea markets. That’s why his musical backgrounds feature such distinctive sounds as the zurna or the Korean piri, Gnawa guembri, metal electric guitar solos, readings from the Green Book by Gaddafi, or fragments of muezzin calls distorted by various effects.

Some of his compositions are based on Serbian or Slovak folk songs, interpreted on his albums by singers such as Svetlana Spajić, Mirjana Raić, Tijana Stanković, or Zoja Borovčanin. His latest album Dens (2023) ranked multiple times in the World Music Charts Europe, reaching #1 in January 2024.

At our festival concert, Vladimir Lenhart will be joined by the outstanding experimental violinist and folk singer Tijana Stanković. Their joint performance promises a true musical adventure.
