Ti’kaniki
(Réunion, France)

The group consists of musicians from the island of Reunion, but also from the French city of Lyon. They play the popular maloya style, which is based on percussion and vocals. Singers Cindy Pooch (ex Bongo Hop) and Margaux Delatour (who you may remember for  the group Pixvae), together with their percussionists, can really stir things up on stage. In addition to the familiar instruments, you will also see some unique to Reunion, such as the rouler barrel drum, which is played sitting astride it, or the kayamb, a frame “mega rattle” made of dry sugar cane stalks filled with plant seeds.

Margaux Delatour – vocals, percussion
Cindy Pooch – vocals
Luc Moindranzé – percussion, vocals
Théo Pages – percussion, vocals
Hadrien Santos da Silva – drums, percussion, vocals
Jonathan Volson – percussion, vocals
